whhhaa?

Hope this isn't the fashion this summer...don't think I can, or would want to pull it off! I mean, what is the point of that? Chronic ankle chill with excessive toe sweating might warrant this...but thats it!
In other developments, new blog coming soon!!!

uh, yes please!

I'm so excited to share that I'm off to New York City tomorrow morning! I have a fabulous weekend planned with 15+ girls for my great friend Caroline's bachelorette party. We have an awesome itinerary and looking it over I know we're going to have a blast. We're going to a bunch of fun restaurants, a POLE dancing class (oh yea!) and even a bar with a mechanical bull!!!

Thankfully the snow is gone (or at least not falling anymore), but now the rain is coming in. I hope it will just be cloudy and not rainy, that would ruin it! Oh well, we'll still have fun and I can't wait!! I'll post pics when I get back!

Alive and Very Well

Several times a year I get so stinkin busy that I forget to call my parents on a weekly basis. Now this usually warrants several calls from my mom (and emails) where the only message is : "Just calling to see if you alive and well." Never fails. I got that message last week. Thanks mom. I am alive and well and here in Knoxville! Since my last post like a month ago, I have packed up (again) and moved (again!), but yea, we're here at our final destination of Knoxville, Tennessee. So far everything is going well. The drive to Knoxville from Mempis wasn't bad at all. Well except Jackson once again had a panic attack. I mean I even gave him some Benedryl at the advice of a friend who is a vet. It did not work, in fact I think it actually made him hyper and add that to him freaking out about driving in a car for 5 hours, it was no good. But I got him settled and he eventually took a nap and I could drive straight! Bobby and our friend Joe followed slow as molasses in his car with a uhaul trailer. We almost had a problem with the water being hooked up, but it was all good by the time we got there. Then on Saturday, which was valentine's day, we had some amazing friends (Donna and Mox) come in from Nashville and help us out (Thanks guys!). It made it fun to unload a uhaul and pod and it didn't take too long. I think the best part of the night was when Mox and Bobby went to get us some dinner/beer for the night and they came home with roses and giant cheesy cards (see fuzzy phone pic)! Its hilarious becuase all day Donna was saying all she wanted for Valentine's was a card from Mox. And he didn't disappoint!
Bobby and I went to our "valentines" dinner last Friday night. We went to a place downtown called Oodles. Very yummy italian food and wine. And tonight we're going to go to Barley's to have some pizza and a beer or two and to play some darts! I'm so excited to have a low key night out! So there you have it, me catching up with you and letting you know we're "alive and well" (instead of dead and ailing). When I get everything totally finished I will update with pics of the house and my office! -E

N'awlins Y'all!

So my bestest friend Emily is getting hitched (yea!) to a great guys (double yea!) AND she's getting married in New Orleans (triple yea!) which is like one of my absolute favorite places to visit and a lil unknown fact, that's where I'm from and most of my family still is.

So back to Emily and her amazing wedding on the avenue (St. Charles Avenue). She asked me to design a postcard Save the Date and here is what we came up with. Em and Jason got a couple friends to take some pics of them in front of the church they will be married in on a Trolley with the street sign of St. CHarles Avenue. Well I had a little retouching to do, a new sign here, erase all the trolley info there and add with their STD info, and voila! A nice lil Save the Date postcard. And the best part is that we're getting them printed at vistaprint.com where they are running a special, so it's going to cost more to mail out then to get printed! oh well, the price you pay for a wonderful wedding! Can't wait for June!

some more help for my friends!

Well I can't mention Angie and not mention my friend Matt and HIS new venture!
Matt and his wife just moved to Nashville,TN to open this awesome shop! It is called The Paint Blush and it's located in Cool Springs/Franklin area of Nashville. Pretty much you go with a bunch of friends, pay about $25, bring in some tasty beverages and paint your little heart out! And the best part is you get to take home your painting at the end. Now I love to paint and I have been neglecting my artistic side since before we moved to Jacksonville, so this is something right up my alley! I can't wait to go and visit! You should too! :)

A lil help for my friends...

Hey! Sorry been gone so long, been busy as usual and out of town like twice. I will update later, BUT I wanted to give a shoutout to one of my best friends and her business venture...She is Angie Watkins and her new business is called Glitzy Green. And it is pretty cool. She is very aware of recycling and reusing products and she came up with these earrings made from aluminum cans AND old magazines...seriously I'm talking my old Diet Coke can and US weekly mag...how creative is she? They are so cute I kind of want them all! And an added bonus (which is my moms best feature) is that the earrings are so light! You barely know they are there!
Please go and check out her out at her esty site here.

kick up yer heels!

Love this photo from Kelli Cohee Photography...I smell an invite design being brewed from this!

Knoxvegas revisited...

So B and I went to Knoxville this past weekend to check out places to live and I think we found something pretty amazing...can you say ventless stone fireplace in the middle of the living room??? And hardwood in a dark stain, huge bedrooms, baths AND the perfect size bonus room for me and my work! and its all in our budget!!! yea!!! Now we have been known to rush into decisions like this so we decided to sleep on it and decide if we can't find anything else that we would want downtown (which is what we were looking for first off) but if not then when we go back to visit at the end of the month its ours!!! Very exited about this development. Especially after our pitiful rainy day of looking on Saturday and especially after we found THE ONE in the Historic Old North Knox area for the right price on Sundy, but they weren't having anything to do with our dog...and Jackson always trumps amazing beautiful restored historic home...hope he appreciates our decision! ha!

Anyways While we were there we got the lay of the land and I think I'm going to be happy about my decision to go there. Everyone we ever asked is a sucker for the West side of town with its Old school Mall and bland Grocery stores and Bed Bath and Beyonds and Best buys (which don't get my wrong I like), but We always try to rebel against the norm, so we hung out in the Old City and Market Square in Downtown Knox (see pic above). Very cool place, with amazing restaurants and bars, boutique shops, a movie theater and hello a Farmers Market every weekend! So I'm excited! Especially since our new place would only be 10 mins from said area...! Can't wait to go back!!!

One Question....

This group of videographers have gone to several cities and asked 50 people the one question and filmed their responses. I just saw the New Orleans version and its really cool. Very touching for some reason. Can't put my finger on it. Anyways check it out here!
The music is cool too!

freakin hilarious

Doing my daily blog read and I happened upon these hilarious cards. They are called "Mean Cards" and they make me laugh, which is always a good thing...even if its a lil tacky and inappropriate! I have a feeling I only have a handful of friends who will appreciate these like I do...but that means they are the best kind of friends! And I should send them some of these cards soon to make them smile!

Keep Calm and Carry On...

Ok, so its Monday and we all need a lil reminder of this...well maybe its just me. Sometime on Sunday night it always hits me...argghh! tomorrow is Monday! It's not that I hate Mondays, its just that they take away all the fun...and Friday always seems so far away! Anyways I know that when we get a new place in Knoxville, I will be getting this poster. Just to remind me to stay calm, and carry on no matter what stress comes my way(especially those nasty Mondays!). Anyways I found this one on ebay. I like the green but they have a lot of different colors...You can find them here at sfgirlbybay's Shop. Just a lil side note, from my understanding, these posters were originally hung up all around London during WWII, to thwart off any panic during bombings! Yea, because if I was getting bombed on, this would do the trick to keep me sane!

Twilight

Sorry I have been gone so long, work has gotten out of control busy and I got hooked on a drug. Not just any drug.....Ok, so I hate to admit this, but I'm obsessed! Twilight is my drug! Not just the movie, I'm talking the whole bag, the movie, the books (4 books, all 600+ pages) AND the soundtrack!!! I didn't really understand it when Melanie started reading the books and missed work for 3 days to complete them (she works at home and is self employeed so its all ok!) and I didn't really understand when I was reading about the mobs of people getting hurt trying to see the actors from the film...but now I do. So I think I started the first book, last Sunday night. And as of today I am almost half way into the fourth book. I have been none stop, I have not watched barely any TV (thank goodness for DVR) and I even went to a midnight showing of the film, b/c I had to see it first!!!

I don't know if its really supposed to be for more of a teenage age group, but I think it doesn't matter. The plot is way more deep than any "high school" drama you could think of. I mean straight forward its a love story. It just happens to be between a normal girl and a 100 year old vampire...oh and then it becomes a love triangle, between the girl, the vampire and the best friend who happens to be....(I won't tell what he happens to be, you'll have to read it to find out!)

All while the love story is going on is the drama of the threat to the girls life from all sides...

But I can't help it, I am hooked...and I'm kind of sad when the book I'm reading now is done, cause' then what? I guess they are making another movie, I'll just have to wait for that!! :)

PS- I really liked the movie. I thought that the acting could be a teeny bit better (mainly just the actress who played the girl) and I thought that they cut out a lot of the connection between Edward and Bella, but I guess you have to , to put 600+ pages on screen with a 2 hour time constraint...

a lil help

I have found that most guys are quite oblivious to what exactly us girls really want, and if they do figure out what we really want, they might not know all the important info to get us the right size, color, flavor etc. Well have no fear, along comes the The Little Pink Card. Custom to you it's packed full of all your information so there so there is never an excuse why white chocolate is brought home instead of milk chocolate...or Chico's instead of J.Crew!

Are you there Inspiration, its me Erin....

Um hello, how gorgeous is this spread!!! Its the cover of the Neiman Marcus Home catalog and I think it's my inspiration for this years Haines Christmas card!!!

Green Bean!

So, I love this time of year. Not only do the fashions change around, but all the sales come out AND this years economy is helping with that even more!! I have a gift card to Old Navy AND I have a friends and family coupon for 30% off , so with that being said I think I'll do a lil shoppin this weekend. So far I am in favor of this jacket ($79 pre coupon) and this bangal ($7 pre coupon)

You have to fight for your right.......to vote!

Guess what I did today? I voted! B and I decided to do absentee voting because he is leaving me on election day (sad) and I thought at the time that I had a meeting out of town. Anyways I voted and I voted good. I'm very optimistic about the future (but I think I might be the only one!) But I guess we'll find out soon enough!

Nashvegas bound!

Going to Nashville today!! I'm so excited! B has to take a very big important "gotta pass because the next part of our lives a.k.a. the new job depends on it" test on Friday. AND its my third anniversary of my 25th birthday on Monday, sooooo I am tagging along to go roam Nashville for 5 days! How fun is that! I don't really know what exactly we're going to do, but its a nice lil vay-cay stuck in the middle of the fall. But don't fret I'll be back on Tuesday to get right back in the stress of things!

Love Love Love!

Love this dress! I was walking around the mall the other day and saw it in the doorway of Delia's. I know, I know its a little too young of a store for me, but the dress is awesome! I don't know what it's made of but it is so soft and the sequins add a lil bit of pizazz. Think I might get it when my November budget rolls around! Check it out at Delia's for only $54.50

Testing 1 2 3

Just testing out if I can blog on the go with my new phone!!

I heart early B-Day Presents!

So here's what went down. B called me yesterday afternoon to see what I was doing. Which is odd for two things, 1. that he was wondering what I was doing at 4:45pm and 2. that he called...so I was suspicious. Then he said he was at a store! And I was floored! B never leaves work before 6! and THEN he said he was getting my birthday present, but wasn't quite sure what exact item to pick out and if I could come by and help....how fun! Unfortunatley I popped his spontineity bubble because I was going to Pilates with Mel at 5...so then he had to confess that he was at the at&t store picking out a new phone for me!! I've been obsessing over getting a phone that has internet ever since I was stuck in New York City after the Stationery Show, on the runway for 2 hours with no book, no magazines and no internet on my phone! Everyone else kept themselves entertained by playing on their phones. I know thats not a great reason, but it sparked my desire for a new one. Plus our phones were old school. No camera, no internet...only good ole fashion call, answer and text! Anyways so we decided to go back to the store after I did my workout (which kicked my butt...and hip flexers by the way!), we had a yummy dinner at Sierra Grille and then headed over. It's funny, because normally you would think that I would pick out the Iphone, but I was drawn to the Blackberry Curve like a moth to the flame....so ladies and gents I would like to welcome my new phone into my life:

It's pretty and I like it. Now if I can only figure out how to use it!! :)

Rocky Top TN

Ok, so the bomb has been dropped...B and I are moving back to our home land...Tennessee! Fortunatley we are not going back to Memphis (well at least not for a long period of time) but we're going to be living in Knoxville. I heart Knoxvegas. Especially in the fall and winter. The mountains and rivers around are so pretty! So the past two months or so this plan has been in the works with another company. It's a great opportunity for B to go to KNOXVILLE and open a branch of an engineering company that is currently based out of Memphis. Very cool gig for someone his age who has been working in an office for 3 years! He loves his job here, but we just couldn't pass this up, and it probably will be the only chance we have to get out of Jacksonville.

So the next 6 months will be crazy as hell, as he has to leave in like 3 weeks to go to Memphis to train, then I will pack up the abode and join him in January. Hopefully by February he will be trained and ready to go and we will move our lil butts to Knoxville.

I'm so happy to have seasons again! I've been searching all over the web to find jackets and pants and boots! I seriously have lived in Jacksonville for 3 1/2 years and even though I have a really nice North Face Fleece jacket, I probably only wore it for a week in the winter...now I'm going to have a cold cold cold winter and maybe even snow!! B claims that Knoxville doesn't snow, but when we first started dating I would drive up from Auburn to see him (he lived in Knoxville for 5 years for undergrad) and every time I went it would snow! So pretty! Anyways so I decided that I should find a cute Tennessee outfit for once I get there. Now if you know anything about Knoxville, you should know that Orange is the new black. Because of the Tennesee Vols, and I love orange so much already that it's a perfect fit...(well unless my Tigers are there to play them, then I'll be sporting all Navy!). So this is what I found:

I like to call this my Rocky Top Wardrobe.
Scarf found at Lulu's fashions
Flat Moccasions at Piperlime courtesy of Rachel "Bananas" Zoe's pick
Bangle Braclet from Old Navy ( I have one in black and gold )
Adorable Ruffle Orange Jacket from J.Crew
and finally some Flare Denim Jeans from J.Crew

I Can't Wait!

Ghoulish Fun and Treats!

So our fabulous friends, Melanie and Bradford, are throwing a party for Halloween. And that is just another reason why they are fabulous. I LOVE Halloween. Always have. I think it has to do with the fact that my birthday is like 4 days before and we always had amazing Halloween parties when I was growing up. My mom would decorate the house as much if not more than if it was Christmas! I had the best costumes. When I was 2 or 3 I told my mom I wanted to be an apple. Not a princess, not shera...no no, and apple. The fruit. As resourceful as my mom is, she put me in a white sweatsuit, and cut out two large poster boards and pasted an apple shape on my front and back, and I had a lil stem for a hat. The best part, was that she also cut out words for the back of my adorable outfit. It said " I'm an apple!" just in case there was any confusion! If I find that picture I'll post. But anyways back to my giddy-ness for this upcoming party. Melanie doesn't know it yet, but I am going to make some Treats...Halloween-ish treats that is.
Sooooo, I've been looking for something in my cooking ability range and something fun, unexpected and oh so cute...Here are some things I've come up with, but we'll see what I actually do! Carmel Corn from Insightful Nana (not really scary, but looks so yummy!), and then Spider Cookies, Cheesy Goblin Head and Tombstone Brownies from Better Homes and Garden's website.
I'll keep you posted on the final outcome!

Monday sunny Monday!

Ok, so now I am back. A lot of new developments since we last spoke, or I spoke to you...but I can't discuss for a lil while...but trust me, it's big news! (and no, I am not pregnant!) Anyways I have been diligently working on new projects for the work and have made a lot of progress with that. I am still trying to find a second to work on some of my designs, but to no avail...maybe one day! I have been drowing myself with election talk and politics, and as much as I enjoy learning about everything and EVERYone, it definitely makes me feel old. I mean, when your friends get together and they talk about the debate, you're officially at that point in your life where everything has changed...but I guess thats ok. I mean I will be turning the big "3rd Anniversary of my 25th Birthday" at the end of the month...that's pretty old. So I guess it's alright to discuss politics and the world daily...but I wish I could just watch The Office, Life and Chuck and talk about that instead :)

Anyways I have an awesome find. I have been over the past year obsessed with J.Crew. The obsession grew slowly from a couple years ago, but since they have been throwing in brights and classic designs, I just can't get enough....and no really I just can't get it! Everything that I love, and have to have is way out of my price range. I mean even the J.Crew outlet down the interstate is out of my price range! (Plus there stuff isn't as cute as what I want anyways!)...so back to my find:

I give you J.crew Mary Jane Peep toes:

Currently at $168...which is no good.
So my compromise is the following from Chadwick's of all places:

Which I kinda like a little better than the peep toe....Retail price is $49.99

Think I'm going to either "suggest" this to my mom for an "anniversary" present, or I might just get them myself!!

Oh and this is the other thing that I want for the winter....let me know if you find anything similar at a cheaper price (aka less than the $375 its going for!)

Back again!

Get excited! I am back!! It's been a while since I last posted. Last I was here I was going to NYC for the Stationery show. I went for 3 days and it was great. I saw a lot of wonderful things and had a lot of fun with the girls. And even though I prepared my self with getting inserts for my shoes and bringing aspirin, I was still so sore from walking around! We celebrated Bobby's birthday, has a game night or two, and then we had a family tragedy in Memphis. We lost Bobby's younger brother. We have great comfort in knowing where he is now, but still the shock of the situation will take a while to wear off....we miss you Jon!
As for the past week, We just got back from New Smyrna Beach with the Watson's ( I know Mel is glad I'm finally giving her something new to read), the Mize's and Mr. Brad Hogue....we had a blast, there was a plethora of cupcakes, rednecks and doggies, not too shabby for a 4th of July!
Anyways I'm just checking up and catching up, but I promise to be back tomorrow to update on the "Design" side of things....

I love cake...

No really, I love cake. I crave it on a daily basis, even though I can't recall the last time I've had a piece of cake. Maybe when the Mr. has his birthday next month, I'll have an excuse to get some!

Check out this beautiful and cool looking cake from LovinSullivanCakes. I think its a mix of preppy and modern. and I love the colors too!

Elegant Pic-a-nic!

When I think of a picnic I think of red checkerboard plastic table cloths, hot weather and sticky tables. But when I visited style me pretty the other day, I came across some shots of a wedding whose theme is "Elegant Picnic". I love the coral color contrasting with the black. I am now obsessed with this wedding theme. I think it is so original and unique and completely out of the box. These photos are from that wedding, shot by Amanda Kraft Photography as well my party outfit I would love to wear to match! Dress from J.Crew ( I love how flirty the ruffles are!), Patent Leather Mary Janes from J.Crew ( I really should invest in a pair!) and "Kate Earrings" jewelry from Turq Jewelry. I am definitely going to style an invitation around this wedding...I hope to show you some ideas soon!
